As I contemplate what I want to see happen for me and my family this year, I of course want things like peace, love, prosperity and happiness. But how will I help that to happen? What can I do to become better? How can I help my children become better?
We are always challenging our children (and ourselves) to "do just a little more" or "go the extra mile" so the thought occured to me that maybe by doing for others, by being more giving, being more understanding and by being more charitable we will be able to have peace, love, prosperity and happiness and it will come to us naturally and easily.
I think my hopes and desires for 2009 can come to pass by adhering to council given by President Hinckley a few years ago when he stated..... "let's make a decision within ourselves to be a little better than we’ve been, a little kinder, a little more merciful, a little more outreaching, with a little greater desire to bless those in distress and need. …........ Think of some small way in which we might improve ourselves and draw nearer to our Lord.”
It is my hope that we all find peace in service this year and love for others as well as ourselves.

Ditto on your thoughts of the new year. We all need to be reminded of why we are here and what our purpose really is in this life. One thing that I know for sure is that I need to step it a few more notches! Way cute pictures by the way.
OK first of all Barbie...of course I know who you are!!! Your family is beautiful and I love that we have girls the same age. SO FUN!!! I was dying when I read your story about Garrett. I think that is the funnest story ever. I read it to my Mom and we were both dying laughing. Johnny and I laugh everyday at the things Carly comes up with. We really have to watch what we say. Man it has been years since I have seen you. I love that we will be able to keep in touch with our blogs. We really do need to plan some kind of a reunion though because it is really sad that all of you cousins don't ever see each other. Plus Jillian and Carly would LOVE each other. She is beautiful Barbie...just like her MOMMY!!!
your right on My family need to do a lot more service this year.
